It's that time of the month again for the Polish Party nail art challenge. The winning theme from the vote was spring which is a pretty wide area meaning loads of different designs. By pure accident, I've also managed to tie this challenge in with this weeks Golden Oldie Thursday challenge as well seeing as it's yellow/peach and that's the chosen base colour for this design:
It's a sugar coat nail polish by Sally Hansen called Sweetie. The colour is bright but also pale-ish yellow so it doesn't stand out too much in the light as it's not neon. Sugar coat name gives away the effect that it's matte and appears as if your nails have been covered in sugar.
The idea for the nail art was to have randomly spots across the nails with the rest of the sugar coat polish which are called Cherry Drop, Sour Apple and Razzle-Berry. However these are all effect polish so the outcome could go either way. Let's see how this turns out...
It turned out as hoped for! It's managed to keep the sugar effect across all the nails even where the dots have been added which was the intended outcome. Even though the dots were a little bit harder to add as they had a texture. Colour wise they are a little summer themed however this is what happens in Spring time - your dreaming of the summer sun. (That's what I tend to do.)
So here's my little entry to the Polish Party as well as GOT Challenge, I can't wait to check out the other entries as they'll be great so should you guys!
This looks great! I love the combination of textured polishes! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, I was pretty unsure about dotting a textured polish but it seems to come out just right!
DeleteThese look fab! So bright =)
ReplyDeleteI did think they may be a little bright for spring when designing it! Oh well, thanks for the complement. :)
