Last Minute Adjustment: Purple Reflects! and Snow Globe
This polish looks very much like a going out on the town combination, but reassurances it's not. When painting Purple Reflects! on to the nails it just didn't seem quite right like there was something missing, in the end it was decided the manicure needed glitter. Snow Globe was chosen as there was a need to test this one out as the other Sally Hansen glitters had been so successful. It wasn't sticking to the polishes list that had been created, the deviation was worth it!

Weekly Update No.3
Another week has passed, another weekly update of nail polishes being used is due for you guys. This week it's been toned down a little so that some darker colours are getting some usage as well as to make the brighter colours stand out. Oh and a heads up, that these weekly updates will be ending in the near future as the weekly schedule will be changing. (Sorry! It's got to happen.) Shall we skip onto the polishes then?

NOTD: B-right On! by Sally Hansen and Boom Box Black by Maybelline
A week ago a collection of polishes were promised to be swatched upon this little blog and here another nail of the day combination is. Sadly not all of the polishes promised will be up really soon as someone forgot to photograph all the lovely painted nails... so they'll have to be done again in the near future which isn't a problem as they were all lovely! Let's get on to today's nails that have been done properly...

NOTD: Make a Splash By Rimmel and Alley Attitude by Maybelline.
As promised it's the first manicure of the week, which has been organised just so you guys don't miss out on your nail polish fixes. Today's nails is a combination of a normal coloured crème polish with a special effect topper. The topper was bought because it looked so amazing yet hasn't been used therefore it was top of the 'to swatch' list. Let's see some more of this lovely combination:

A little update and a sneak peak at the upcoming manicures!
The last few weeks have been a little sporadic so a little update was well overdue. The reasoning for the schedule some times getting missed is that work is currently being changed as well as personally switching jobs at the same time - just a little hectic to say the least! So today's a promise for more swatches and post as well as reassurance through a sneak peek at what's coming up soon...

10 Amazing Polishes in £10!
It's a brilliant way to find amazing products at the poundshops which have been springing up on the highstreet especially nail polishes. However it's not so good when they are swatched once for this little blog and then disappear forever into the stash never to be seen again. So today's going to be the 10 makeup products in £10 tag but with a little Addicted to nails... twist:
It's going to be 10 polishes which add up to exactly £10 seeing as 90% of these chosen polishes were purchased in the poundshops! Except one which came from a local 99p shop instead. Just to say this post isn't bragging about the bargains which have been claimed and also doesn't mean you should all run out and spend all you hard earn pennies in the poundshops either. Okay? Here we go:

There's always those evenings that you are going out celebrating with friends and family - an occasion. When you've got painted nails but they just don't quite cut it for the event. Here's the polish to fill that gap, it's relatively new release and it's amazing for the amount of effort put in for the result that you receive. This little polish is called Rose Chic from the collection Crystallize by Maybelline Colour Show:

May Polish Favourites
It's the end of May and the start of June which hopefully means summer weather coming into full swing. However today's post is going to mark the end of May with a little favourites post seeing as there has been many polishes which have been especially loved during May. So I thought I'd pass on the wonders of these little bottles.

Spring Colour Recommendations - Guest Post
It's spring finally so I've done a little post on colour choices for your nails this time of year, instead of the usual GOT challenge. Hopefully it'll brighten up your day as they are very sweet colours and there in skittle manicure formation!
Now today's full post requires a little bit of work on your half, as it's a guest post on Em's Little Corner in this lovely little post Guest Post by Grace from Addicted To Nails... so why don't you head on over?

GOT Challenge: Coral
Today's GOT Challenge is Coral which was a little problem seeing as I wasn't really sure what this colour was. It's been floating around nail polish blogging but I wasn't sure if it was pink or orange, meaning I google searched it. It's a mixture of the two! That lead to a second problem seeing I don't own any of these colours, so the next best colour was chosen:It's a polish from the pile of the great unused polishes and it's been around about a year so hopefully it qualifies for the challenge. The name is 460 Orange Couture by Maybelline Forever Strong Pro but still has a tiny hint of pink undertone despite the name saying otherwise. Here's the first coat...

GOT Challenge: Pastel
Hello, it's that time of the week again! But it's going to be rather a quick post seeing as I've got to go out again in just a moment - sorry. Today's theme is pastel which is quite surprising that it's gone so well as normally these colours aren't picked first when buying. However today has three very complimentary colours:
The names of these lovely polishes are; 503 Mind The Gap, Victoria by Rimmel 60 Seconds, 145 Porceline Pink by Maybelline Forever Strong and 320 Blue Sky by NYC in a minute. When planning this little post it was decided seeing as the last few that I could remember were basic colours, I'd add some spots on to the nails at the end!

GOT Challenge: Skittle
Now I've probably mentioned before that I have a current love of the sweets Skittles in any of their flavours, which made me very excited for this week's GOT challenge seeing as I am basing it on the sweets! It's only going to be a flying post but a very colourful one.
Each colour nail polish has been matched to a flavour, however the flavours cannot be named as these are the Confused? Skittles. The names and how old they are: 460 Orange Couture - Maybelline Forever Strong Pro (Unused), 325 Hot Gossip -Rimmel Lycra Pro (Kind of Golden Oldie), 303 Bright Purple - Barry M (Golden Oldie!), 50 In Record Lime - Sally Hansen Insta-Dry (Kind of Golden Oldie) and Unnamed Yellow - Miss Sporty (Golden Oldie!) So here's the end result:

GOT Challenge: Valentines!
This week's theme is Valentine's. This one gave me a lot of ideas but not all of them where really feasible for my skills at the moment but hopefully will in the future! The idea that stuck was a glitter gradient, which I haven't done before so I had help from SheKnow's Glitter Gradient How To to guide me through all the steps.
Today's nail polish is a combination of a golden oldie and one from the Mount Untried. 222 Fuchisa Fun by Maybelline has been rumbling around the collection for about two months as it lost the competition to Pink Bikini from the Colour Show. 350 Diamond Glitter has been a staple in the collection for a while so much so it's been repurchased a few times... Onto the Fuchisa Fun review.

What I am wearing...
This is a little bit of a naughty post seeing as I am trying to stick to a new schedule of posting three days a week which was one of the New Year Resolutions so that I don't run out of steam doing this little blog. However I saw Pause For Polishes's What I'm Wearing! post this morning, then thought I'd show the nails I've got on today seeing as it was a first attempt at a gradient.
Aren't they cool!? Not the best ever gradient in the world (that's why this isn't a full blown post) but I'll improve once I have a few more attempts. Nail polishes used where Rose Porcelaine - Maybelline and 185 Sweet Tart by Revlon with Sally Hansen's Insta-Dry as a top coat. Have you guys done any first attempts in nail art recently? :)

GOT Challenge: Dots
Here I am again with a new week's GOT challenge under the title of dots which was pretty hard to put together seeing as it's the use of old nail polishes and the idea was to create a rainbow of dots. However my collection doesn't hold many old bold colours, therefore I'll show you the oldies first and then the addition back up colours. Is that okay? Hopefully not breaking the rules as I've never been a 'rulebreaker' to be truthful.
Square photographs didn't really seem right and this is the best editing I can do to get close to circles so they are in their own little bubbles. Base colour was Cloudy Grey by Maybelline, the golden oldie polishes are Hibiscus by Natural Collection which is really old and a cheaper polish seeing as that's what pocket money would stretch to and an unknown named polish by Miss Sporty which doesn't have a tag as it was purchased at a car boot sale (Really really old!). Finally the additional colours are Bright Purple by Barry M, Orange Attack by Maybelline Colour Show and 296 Water Street Blue by NYC. Right let's get started with the base coat.
I am starting to like the bubbles of photographs, I promise I wont get too attached to them. Oh! Before I forget the reason the base colour isn't white is due to the fact that my collection currently doesn't hold a white nail polish. There is a lot going on in this post today, edited photographs and a little movie. Don't get your hopes up too much though. Next stage then is adding the different dots therefore here's the film premiere...

Trio of spots!
A simple design of dots to create a great set of nails. I had realised this evening that I hadn't used the spotting tools since the first try out so they came out of their lovely new packet and I thought through some simple ideas then thought of the simplest of them all: a trio. Then the next hard-ish decision was the colours as there are now too many to choose from, if only I could use every colour I own...
Seeing as the amount of nails I have to paint isn't endless, a theme was decided and then a few select colours were chosen. Pastel which includes 270 Lacey Lilac - Sally Hansen, Turquoise Lagoon - Maybelline, 505 Mind The Gap, Victoria - Rimmel and Rose Porcelaine - Maybelline seeing as these colours complemented each other perfectly. This is the first coat:

This is the first coat:
Fitting the pastel theme so far, maybe the blue needs to be a little lighter but that's probably the picky-ness coming through a little too much. This isn't being picky but at this point all of the nail polishes needs another layer seeing as none of them are really opaque enough yet to get the best of the polishes overall...
That's much better for my liking which is probably a little bit picky which is becoming apparent through this little blog... Now as mentioned earlier the design is going to be a trio of dots and relatively simple seeing as it's got to look good on both hands. Not brilliant on one and terrible on the other. Additionally a large dotting tool was chosen so that it would fill the nail polish 'frame' as it were and much easier to get three in a straight line. Hopefully like this:
Making sure all the colours were included in the simple art, the accent dot colour was changed every time so that it was the colour of the nail to the left of it (does that make sense? I am not sure...) Simplicity seems to be the best policy seeing as these came out so well aside from the fact that the lines aren't all straight or perfect, this can only really be seen when looking closely! Who'd be doing that except me!?

Hopeful of summer nail polish...
Whilst doing my nails for the little blog, I've realised that I am probably too hopeful that summer is on it's way slowly but surely as all the colours which have been picked at the moment are pastel and bright which are meant to be summer colours. Probably trying to avoid the fact that it's not even spring yet, we are still in winter and will be for a while...

GOT Polish Challenge: Stripes
So here's the next stage in this lovely challenge, this week is stripes which is going to mean many different colours of the oldest nail polish I own and the use of good old selotape seeing as the striping tape hasn't yet arrived therefore I apologise in advance for the neatness of the stripes! The nail polishes which are having the dust removed as we speak are:
Now one of the nail polishes is such an oldie that a) it's not a big brand name and b) I don't know where it was purchased so sorry that I cannot lead you to were it was purchased but it's on it's last legs anyway! So it's a gold nail polish by IMAGE and Gemey Paris by MNY Maybelline which does have a gold speckle inside the black colour. The combination which was the aim was a black and gold stripe seeing as it's always a good colour combination!
Not what I was hoping for in neatness of lines but they do stand out as they are such contrasting colours and the striping tape will be here soon! Definitely makes a great difference to the normality of the one colour on my nails, there'll be more where this came from! It's just practise makes perfect so they will improve with time practise and watching tips/tricks on youtube... As well as these nail polishes I have been using Sally Hansen Insta-Dry over most recent nail polishes, it's now used all the time as it drys so quickly and lasts forever. Give it a try! Hope you liked the attempt at strips, see you soon.

Another favourite of mine...
...This isn't a new purchase but it's one which comes off of the shelf regularly as it's well used on my nails. Now this colour was a jump into unknown territory seeing as mostly I choose bright and in your face colours whereas this one is a mute and calm colour. The reasoning for the choosing is that at the time black, white and greys were very much in fashion which meant I was paying attention to fashion for once!
Now the name isn't as bright and cheerful as the rest of the nail polish collection seeing as it's called Cloudy Grey which doesn't really inspire me as much. But the colour is lovely for non-colour, as it's plain and simple which is good for a change from the rainbow. It also matches all the this season clothes I own. So here's the first layer:
So far so good? It appears so! Applying this nail polish was good and bad in places, there was some streaking in places but it disappears once the second layer is applied. Pro points were that the solution was lovely consistency and really opaque meaning you can't see underneath. 2nd layer is here...
There you go! They came out really well and really quite neat for my nails which is a plus. Now I am not really sure that this nail polish is still available seeing as it's yet another purchase from a £1 shop but this the Colour Show collection by Maybelline has a colour similar to this called Cool Touch. Or there's always the usual Amazon or Ebay if you love this one that much. I probably will when this one runs out...
